THE CASTLE

2H 30MIN (with intermission) | Mała scena

K. is the protagonist of Franz Kafka’s novel, who appears one day in a village at the foot of a castle hill. The mysterious arrival of K. wakens the village’s inhabitants from their lethargy as his single desire focuses on gaining entrance into the castle.

What is this titular castle? A place where human hopes and fears accumulate? A symbol of dreams and disappointments? The mythical building is like a lens, through which the townsfolk see each other. The Castle is Franz Kafka’s last novel and considered his most mysterious.
