PLASTIC

1h 50min | Scena im. H. Mikołajskiej

The stability of Michael and Ulrike's marriage is illusory. While he is entirely caught up in his medical career, she is an assistant to a scandal-inciting artist. Their house is not looked after properly and they are both too busy to spend time with their teenage son, so they decide to hire help. When Jessica arrives, their world gets turned upside-down and fallings-out ensue. Each new conflict sheds light on the relationships between the family members, and on the values they claim to hold, such as tolerance or open-mindedness.

The contemporary urban world depicted in "Plastic" is funny and terrifying at the same time. Marius von Mayenburg thoroughly investigates today's society and contemporary artists; and he reaches a harsh diagnosis.
