DEA LOHER

BLUEBEARD – THE HOPE OF WOMEN

1h 30min (no intermission) | Scena na Woli im. T. Łomnickiego

Modern Bluebeard, Heinrich, is a diffident shoe salesman who’s already tried his luck as a gastronomy apprentice and a serious flower business. Maybe it’s his kneeling when his customers try on shoes; that reminds them of Cinderella. As if he was going to propose. Does this fact make him interesting for women who look for love “beyond measure”? A love they will never taste – but will wrongly demand it from Bluebeard. That’s why he ends up as a serial killer.

Dei Loher’s play is a grotesque full of black humour, a fairy tale for adults; it’s also a story about disposing of the desire to love, to love “beyond measure”.
